Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of this website. They are not the agreement under which we would do bookkeeping for your firm - that is a separate written contract, and nothing on this website replaces it or commits either of us to it.

What is on this website is information, not advice

Several pages discuss professional obligations - what the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct expects of a firm using a third-party provider, and what Internal Revenue Code Section 7216 requires for tax return information. Those passages are written to be useful and we have tried to make them accurate, but they are a summary, not professional or legal advice, and they are not a substitute for your own adviser or your state board.

Nothing on this site creates a professional relationship between us, and nothing on it should be relied on for a decision about your firm's compliance. Where a page says to confirm your own position, it means it.

Prices and figures

The monthly prices published on this site are the prices we currently offer. They are an offer to discuss, not a binding quotation: what you would actually pay is fixed in a written service agreement, and depends on the arrangement you and we agree. We may change published prices at any time, and doing so does not change a price already agreed with a client in writing.

The service commitments published on the How It Works page are commitments we intend to keep and expect to be held to. They become contractual only when they appear in a signed service agreement.

External statistics on this site are quoted with their source and the year. We believe them to be accurate as published, but we did not produce them and we do not warrant them. Comparison figures - such as the cost of employing a bookkeeper in the United States - are estimates using published wage data, and your own costs will differ.

Acceptable use

Please use the site normally. Do not:

• try to gain access to any part of it, or any account or server behind it, that is not open to you;
• probe, scan or test its security, or interfere with how it works for anyone else;
• submit anything through our forms that is unlawful, deliberately false, or designed to disrupt us;
• scrape or copy the site systematically, or use it to train a model, without our written permission;
• use it to send unsolicited commercial messages to us or to anyone else.

We may block access to anyone doing any of the above.

The forms

The forms on this site are for genuine enquiries. Sending an enquiry does not oblige us to accept your firm as a client, and it does not oblige you to anything either. The free pilot is offered on the terms described on its own page, including the limits set out there, and we may decline a request for it.

Our content

The text, design, code, logo and images on this site belong to us or to our licensors. The tryACOwork name and logo are ours.

You are welcome to read, print and share pages, and to quote from them with attribution - and the engagement letter wording on our security page is deliberately offered for you to copy and use in your own engagement letters. Beyond that, please do not republish or adapt our material for your own commercial purposes without asking.

Links to other sites

Where we link to somebody else's site, we do it because we think it is useful. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for what is on them.

Availability

We try to keep the site up and correct, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it, including published prices and pages, at any time.

Limitation of liability

The site is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties about it.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profit, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the site or from reliance on information published on it. Where we are liable, our total liability in connection with this website is limited to 5,000 Indian rupees.

Nothing here excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded - including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. This clause is about the website; liability for bookkeeping work is dealt with in the service agreement, not here.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Delhi have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute about this website.

If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction whose law gives you the right to bring proceedings locally, this clause does not take that right away.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and the version on the page when you use the site is the one that applies.
