Privacy Policy

This policy explains what this website collects, why, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do about it. It was written from the site's own code, so it describes what actually happens rather than what a template assumes.

Who is responsible for your information

VSH Enterprise Pvt Ltd, trading as tryACOwork, of A-113, Rishal Garden, Ranhola, Nangloi, New Delhi 110041, India, is the controller of the information described here.

For any question about this policy, or to make any of the requests set out below, email hello@tryacowork.com. A person reads that address.

What we collect when you fill in a form

There are two forms on this site, and between them they are the only way we collect information about you directly.

The free pilot request, at /free-pilot. We ask for your name, your work email address, your firm's name, your firm's website if you want to give it, which US state you are in, which accounting software your clients use, a description of the work you would like us to do, roughly how many hours a week of bookkeeping you might hand over, anything else you want to tell us, and your consent to us replying. Only the website field and the last note are optional.

The checklist request, in the footer of every page and inside the blog. We ask for your first name, your work email address, and your consent.

Both forms also carry two hidden fields used only to filter automated submissions: a field a person never sees, and the time the form was opened. They tell us nothing about you and are discarded rather than stored.

No form on this site asks for a phone number.

What we collect when you book a call

The calendar on /book-a-call is provided by Cal.com. When you book, you give your name, work email, firm name and an estimate of hours to Cal.com, and we receive the booking from them. Cal.com processes that information under its own privacy policy as well as our agreement with it, and may set its own cookies inside the calendar itself.

What we collect automatically

Analytics. If, and only if, you press Accept on the cookie notice, we load Google Analytics 4, which records your approximate location derived from your IP address, your browser and device, the pages you look at, and the site or search that sent you. We use it to see which pages lead to enquiries. If you press Decline, or ignore the notice, analytics is never loaded and no analytics cookie is set.

Server logs. Our hosting provider records ordinary request information - your IP address, the page requested, your browser's user-agent string and a timestamp - as every web server does. It is used to keep the site running and to investigate abuse.

Cookies and browser storage

Before you choose, this site sets no cookies at all.

Your choice itself is remembered in your browser's local storage, under the key tryacowork.consent, rather than in a cookie, and it lasts twelve months. You can change it at any time using Cookie settings at the bottom of any page, which clears the record and shows you the notice again. Clearing your browser data also clears it.

If you accept, Google Analytics sets its own cookies to distinguish one visit from another. If you book a call, Cal.com may set cookies inside the calendar.

One further cookie exists but is not for visitors: when a member of our own team signs in to edit the website, a short-lived, strictly necessary cookie is set for ten minutes to protect that sign-in. It is never set for you.

Who else receives your information

We name them rather than describing them vaguely:

• Vercel - hosting. Serves every page and holds the server logs.
• Resend - email delivery. Sends your submission to us, and sends you the acknowledgement or the checklist.
• Cal.com - the calendar on the booking page.
• Google - Analytics 4, and only after you accept cookies.
• GitHub - stores the website's own content and code. Your enquiry is not stored there; this matters only because our team signs in to it to edit pages.

Where we connect the forms to a spreadsheet or a customer-record tool so that an enquiry is not held in email alone, that destination is added to this list before it is switched on.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising. We do not add you to a mailing list you did not ask for. The checklist form promises one email and no sales sequence, and that is what it does.

Where your information is processed

We are based in New Delhi, India, so our team reads and answers your enquiry from India. The site is hosted on servers operated by our hosting provider, which may be located in the United States, Europe or elsewhere.

If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, that means your information is transferred outside your own country. Where such a transfer needs a legal safeguard, we rely on the standard contractual clauses in our agreements with the providers named above. Ask us and we will tell you what is in place for a particular provider.

Why we are allowed to use it

• To answer you. You asked us to, by ticking the consent box. You can withdraw that at any time and we will stop.
• To send you the checklist. Same: you asked for it.
• To run and protect the website. Our legitimate interest in a working, non-abused site. Server logs only.
• Analytics. Your consent, and nothing happens without it.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries and pilot requests: twenty-four months from your last contact with us, then deleted. If you become a client, your records are kept under our service agreement instead of this policy.
• Checklist requests: until you ask us to delete them.
• Server logs: as long as our hosting provider retains them, which is a matter of weeks.
• Analytics: according to the retention period set in our Google Analytics property.

Your rights

Whoever and wherever you are, you can email hello@tryacowork.com and ask us to tell you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. We will do it, and we will not make you explain why.

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access your information, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and who receives it, to have it deleted, to correct it, and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, so there is nothing for you to opt out of - but you may still ask us to confirm that.

We respond within thirty days, and sooner where the law requires it.

Children

This site is sold to accounting firms and is not intended for anyone under sixteen. We do not knowingly collect information about children.

Security

Enquiries reach us by encrypted connection and are held in the accounts named above, each protected by multi-factor authentication. The controls that apply to your clients' data, once you are a client, are a different and much longer subject, and they are set out on our security page.

Changes

If we change this policy we will change the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects information you have already given us, we will email you about it rather than rely on you noticing.
